Regular weekly activities
To come to any of the groups here at Rowlands you must be a member. A membership form can be down loaded here and brought with you. The information is not shared with others and is only used to ensure our safety. All activities are free unless stated.
Monday and Friday drop ins
Monday evening 6.30 – 9pm
Friday evening 7-10pm
We have many activities for you to take part in such as pool, play station, wii, quizzes, movies and a computer suite. We also offer free food from the bar as well as a fully stocked tuck shop. We also have free wifi through out the building. Friday night is quiz night, themed quizzes with prizes to be won.
P7 Transitions group
Tuesday evenings 6- 8pm
Easter to October
This group is open to all pupils in primary 7 who are moving up to high school over the summer. The group starts after the Easter holidays and run until October. We provide an opportunity for all young people to met staff and volunteers as well as others who will be in their year at school. This program is part of a wider partnership approach to supporting all young people in the move to high school
Wednesday evenings are LGBT Youth Scotland
Involved is a youth group in central Borders for LGBT young people aged 13-25. The group runs every Wednesday night from 4.30pm to 7:15pm. Come along and take part in workshops, events, film projects and meet new like-minded people. Bus fares may be reimbursed. Arts and crafts
Come along and get involved in making tried before and new crafts, some of which you can take home and others will be made for the pop up shops
Duke of Edinburgh Group
Thursday from 6-8pm
Are you interested in taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh awrd or need some additional help in getting more volunteering for your awards, well feel frrr to drop in for help advice and ideas
Movie group Saturday 2-5pm
Come along ans drop in to watch a different movie every week for free. Each month has a theme and this is deioced by the group. We watch movies up to age 15.
Pop up shops at 1 tower street
Throughout the year we will be having a pop up shop at 1 tower street from 9-1pm where young people will be selling item they have made as well as homemaking and a tombola, where you can try your luck at winning some great prizes
Breakfast Club – Tuesday and Thursday mornings
On Tuesday and Thursday mornings we provide a free breakfast service in Selkirk high school to pupils between 8-8.45 serving toast, pastries and hot drinks
Over the summer holidays we run a variety of trips including Ryze, fox lake, go karting, skateboarding, ice skating and many others. You need to be a member of Rowlands to attend all the trips.
